ER is a critical driver of ER positive/human epidermal growth factor receptor 2 negative (ER+/HER2-) breast cancer, a condition characterized by the cancer cells growing in response to the hormone estrogen. In an exciting update, Arvinas, Inc., together with Pfizer Inc., shared the news that vepdegestrant (ARV-471) has snagged the FDA Fast Track designation. This groundbreaking PROTAC is on a mission to degrade ER in patients with ER+/HER2- breast cancer that's either locally advanced or metastatic, specifically those who've already received endocrine-based treatments.
